This year’s training committee is comprised of more than a dozen members who are busy planning professional development opportunities throughout the state. The members are very energetic about the upcoming events and look forward to having a very productive year for both new and seasoned financial aid administrators. As NJASFAA celebrates our 35th year, we are reminded of the changes in the field and the importance and value of keeping current with regulations of the state and federal government agencies.

• A NASFAA training workshop on Student Eligibility Issues will be held at Raritan Community College on October 16th.
  
  
• Look for information to come about
  • the interactive Professional Judgment workshop,
  • the Support Staff Annual workshop, and
  • Core Novice Training!
    
    
• The committee also hopes to see you at the NJASFAA Fall Conference, where you will have an opportunity to attend various workshops, including a training session focusing on clock-hours and non-traditional schools!

We are confident in providing our members with training opportunities that will allow us to grow further as professionals and be better able to assist our students. Though we have many training opportunities currently in the planning process, you can always contact Robert Alston at ralston@tcnj.edu or Gloria Green at ggreen@hesaa.org if you’d like to provide suggestions of training areas to better meet your needs!

Please remember while celebrating our 35th year that it is the members who keep our committee and organization running so smoothly. Robert Alston has spent days away from his family and his office to present the NASFAA training session to us; Gloria Green is busy preparing for our verification workshop; and Bill Leach is organizing his clock-hour presentation for the NJASFAA Conference. NJASFAA is very fortunate to have such dedicated professionals who research, organize, and present to colleagues, sharing their knowledge and experiences. We are also fortunate to have institutions assist in providing the necessary facilities and arrangements. We certainly appreciate the time and energy that our members offer to help educate our members! Thank you!
