Council
NJASFAA has always been an organization about people. During the course
of the year we will be highlighting members of NJASFAA’s Executive
Council. I hope you find these mini bios informative and learn a little bit
more about our colleagues throughout the state.

Why did you get into Aid?
First job: Federal trust fund accountant/auditor of Title IV and other programs.
Led to management position in regulatory compliance, then to Director and
V.P. of Financial Aid.
Why Did You Participate in
NJASFAA?
Professional growth is always rewarding. Meeting new people is also.
How did you get to participate in
Executive Council?
First served on the Federal Relations Committee, then became the committee
chair, then elected to Council, then elected an Officer of the Association
(Treasurer, 2 terms).
Advice you would give to a new
Financial Aid Professional:
Participate. You can learn a lot from others. Don’t make financial
aid a job, make it a career.

Financial Aid Professional:
Try to have fun.

It was my work-study job while in college!

NJASFAA?
To feel I’m part of a community and to give back to the Association.
How did you get to participate in
Executive Council?
I was nominated to the position of Secretary in 1999 and have served on
Council in other elected positions since then.
Advice you would give to a new
Financial Aid Professional:
Participate in NJASFAA activities and take advantage of everything the
Association has to offer.
