Non-Traditional Concerns Committee The Non-Traditional Concerns Committee hosted a Clock Hour Workshop on May 14 at Raritan Valley Community College. The workshop was well attended. We were happy to see several of our community colleges in attendance. Our new NJASFAA President for the 2004-05 year, Maribeth Quinn, began the workshop with a word of welcome to all in attendance. The first workshop was presented by the Department of Education’s Steve Tessitore. Before beginning his presentation he shared with us the urgent need for schools in New Jersey to sign up for transfer monitoring on NSLDS. He advised us that a very large percentage of the NJ schools are still not registered. Steve’s presentation was on the Return of Title IV Funds. He shared with us some of the new requirements, along with a thorough review of the entire process. A delicious lunch was provided by NJASFAA and prepared by the culinary experts at Raritan Valley Community College before the second workshop was presented. Bill Leach, a VP from Cittone Institute/Lincoln Tech, did the afternoon clock hour presentation. The afternoon concluded with a general question and answer time. Helen Mikulak, the new committee chair for 2004-05, will be following up
on any attendees of the workshop who are not currently attending the non-traditional
committee meetings. Anyone interested in joining our committee, please visit
the NJASFAA website and e-mail us for our meeting dates. |
